Our Story

Northeast Medical Systems & Design is a woman-owned small business based out of Cherry Hill, NJ. We specialize in equipment for hospitals and medical practices, most notably rail mount systems and accessories. But we haven't always been this way.

We started out in 1988 as Northeast Medical Systems Corp. of Oaklyn, NJ.
Our founders, Joseph Conte and David Oberg, brought together a combined 50+ years of experience in the medical and manufacturing fields. Early designs included powered tables and a variety of cassette carts. It was the 80's, after all.

In the early 2000s, we moved to our current location, a 7800 square foot office and manufacturing facility just off of Rt 38 in Cherry Hill. With space for long-term production setup, our business expanded to include a list of international customers. With the advent of the digital age, focus moved from carts and tables to mounting systems and accessories.

After Dave's passing in 2016 and Joe's retirement in 2017, Northeast was bought by Jay Brad, a local machinist and owner of Select Machine & Tool, who had collaborated with Joe and Dave as a major supplier since our inception. Jay rebranded the company as Northeast Medical Systems & Design, expanding the engineering aspect of the company and incorporating modern design and CNC techniques into our workflow. The remaining core staff stayed with us: Mary Ann Booker, who ran the office until she retired 2022, and John Pierce, who continues to serve as our Production Manager.

Company CFO Peg Brad took over the ownership and Presidency of Northeast in 2021. Even in these tumultuous times, we're looking for new niches to fill, and better ways to expand our service.
